R. Crumb at UCLA
A once in a lifetime opportunity…
…spoiled by an idiotic audience. Well, that’s not quite true - the main lecture was pretty funny, and gave a bit more insight on the guy’s life & experience beyond the substantial story told in Terry Zwigoff’s “Crumb.” The following Q&A, however, was a total mess - incredibly banal, useless questions like “What does Zap mean?” or “What is your son’s name?”; to a particularly strange most-likely former Haight&Ashbury resident hollering bizarre statements from the balcony, culminating in a confused audience leaving at the end with him still on stage. Still…an inspirational night :)
