The Street Fighter Post
This past Saturday was Gallery Nucleus’ “Jab, Strong, Fierce” opening, the Street Fighter themed show featuring the work of several prolific illustrators from around the country. Overall, it was a PACKED! Big crowds of art lovers and game lovers were there to show their appreciation for this great franchise.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, however, I chose to participate in the in-gallery Street Fighter IV tournament…before realizing how many of the state’s top players decided to show up (Ed Ma, Combofiend, & more, yikes). Now-legendary Street Fighter II player, and Capcom employee, Seth Killian even hosted the tournament.
Along with my meager practice during that busy week, I took a trip with some friends to Knott’s Berry Farm on 6 hours of sleep, got vertigo on Boomerang, and came home briefly to a 30 minute nap (I was hoping for 2 hours). After the long wait to play using an XBOX 360 controller which I’ve used only once, I eventually…lost.

Despite the results of the evening, it was a great show, and a thrill to participate and show my love for Street Fighter. My thanks go out to Miguel, Anthony, Todd, Kazu, Amy and most of all my wonderful girlfriend Stephanie for their support! She also caught the entire battle on film:
